The Pharaoh’s Tomb is one of Home’s personal estates that carries a ton of detail. Back when I bought it, I was totally intrigued by its beauty. Here was a tomb that had the Nile river right up against it. If you look arcross the Nile you can see the pyramids. From this vantage you can look to the left of the railing and see some small worker houses. If you watch the river long enough you can see a large boat come very close to you, and then move along to it’s next trade route. Going back into the tomb itself, you walk down path where the sarcophagus is ,and the exit hole above for the pharaoh’s soul to escape to the stars.
I put this video together thinking about what it must be like for Anubis.
The thing I wanted to touch on is how detailed the space was, and how I would love to see more care given to the little things. Those little details matter to a lot of people. Something I have had a lot of fun with is the inclusion of the sun and moon in my projects. Those are important objects, and some of the first things humans paid so much attention to. The sky was really the first panoramic HD TV, if you think about it. Stories told over campfires about the stars. Those were the things we lived by.
DarthGranny made a video in the Pharaoh’s Tomb estate, as part of her “Home’s Forgotten Spaces” series. I would highly recommend watching it. You can find it here. Granny’s video tells a story. This video was more of a painting with no real purpose. I liked the images; playing with light has been a lot of fun!
If you haven’t had a chance to go see the detail in this space, you should! I will be covering more of these kinds of spaces in the future, and I hope you enjoy.
